On December 15th, the "Academic Seminar on the Contemporary Value and Innovative Development of Mencius Thought",hosted by the Mencius Research Institute and the Jining Social Science Federation,was successfully held at the Mencius Research Institute.
Experts and scholars attending the meeting extensively discussed and exchanged their views and insights on Mencius' ideas of people-centeredness, personality education, national governance, benevolent governance, theory of goodness in human nature, Rulers’Daotheory, and the theory of mind and nature. Featuringrich and broad topics, in-depth and unique insightsfrom the attending scholars, diverse and stirring viewpoints, this seminaris a constructiveexploration intothe contemporary value of Chinese excellent traditional culture, especially Mencius' thought,contributive to theinnovative development of Mencius research in the new era background.
In the future, the Mencius Research Institute will carefully review the theoretical achievements of this seminar, continuously promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Mencius' thought in the new era, and endeavor to write a new chapterinMencius studies.
